Support

Email temi.elodimuor@gmail.com and a human will answer, usually within two working days. Below are the questions we get most.

Tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you expected to happen. It gets you a real answer twice as fast.

Subscriptions and billing

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so you cancel them in Apple's settings, not in Walkabout:

  • Open Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  • Tap Walkabout, then Cancel Subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before your period ends to avoid the next charge. When the subscription ends, every app lock is removed immediately.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account you bought it on. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, but email us if Apple's answer seems wrong and we will help you make the case.

I paid but the app still says I am locked out of Pro.

Open Walkabout, go to Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it on. If it still does not appear, email us your receipt and we will sort it.

Walks and locking

My walk did not count.

Nine times in ten this is a permission. Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Walkabout and make sure steps, walking distance and workouts are all turned on, plus Motion & Fitness. Walkabout verifies walks against Apple Health, so if Health cannot see the walk, neither can we.

My apps are still locked after I finished.

Give it a few seconds — iOS can take a moment to lift a shield. If it persists, force-quit and reopen Walkabout. If you need in right now, use your daily snooze or a Rest Pass, or turn off the Screen Time permission in Settings → Screen Time.

I need to get into an app urgently.

You always have a way out, and it never requires us:

  • Phone, Messages, Maps and Music are never locked.
  • Use your once-a-day snooze, or spend a Rest Pass.
  • Turn off Walkabout's Screen Time permission in iOS Settings. The lock comes off at once.

Does an indoor walk or a treadmill count?

Indoor walking counts. Walkabout looks at your steps, distance and pace over the session, not at GPS.

Can a gym session count instead?

Yes. A verified workout in Apple Health — run, ride, gym, yoga — can stand in for the day's walk.

Your account and your data

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently erases your account and all the data we hold for it. It cannot be undone. Data stored only on your phone goes when you delete the app.

Do I need an account at all?

No. The full lock-and-walk loop works with no account — the lock, the walks, the streak and the stats all work signed out. An account only lets you redeem a free-walk invite from a friend and backs your finished walks up off the device.

Can I get a copy of my data?

Yes — email us and we will send it within 30 days. See the privacy policy for the full detail on what we hold.

What you need to run it

  • An iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
  • Apple Health permission, to verify walks.
  • Screen Time permission, to lock apps.
  • An Apple Watch is optional — there is a watch app for starting and finishing walks from your wrist.
